We are at Waterhead, Ambleside where you can get a ferry to explore the Lake. It’s approximately a miles walk to the centre of Ambleside, with many shops, pubs and restaurants
Windermere is 4 miles away
You can walk from the house to Troutbeck village, where there are 2 good pubs serving excellent food and drinks
A car is the best way to explore the National Park but there are excellent bus services. The bus stop is a 5 minute walk
The ferry is close by and one of the most scenic and convenient ways to travel around the lake. You can take a ferry to Bowness on Winderemere or across the Lake on the walkers cruise. This involves a very pleasant 4.5 lake side walk to catch the ferry back to Bowness on Winderemere and back to Waterhead
Interaction with Guests
We live on site and are happy to make suggestions about places to visit, walking and places to eat and drink. We are separate to the accommodation and you have privacy in the house.
We will meet you at the property and give you the keys. If you are arriving late at night then we will advise you how to find the key.
